Entropie has been awarded a contract by SK Engineering and Construction for the supply of two Mechnical Vapor Compression units with a total capacity of 3000 m3/day

Entropie has been awarded a contract by SK Engineering and Construction for the supply of a desalination plant with a total capacity of 3000 m3/d. The final destination of the plant is Chile for the PIEM Thermoelectric power plant. The desalination plant is anticipated to be delivered and completed by early of 2017.


The scope of supply includes engineering, fabrication, FOB delivery of two Mechanical Vapor Compression (MVC) units 1 500 m3/d each. Entropie will also supervise the installation and start-up of the desalination plant.


The desalination technology used is Multiple Effect Distillation (MED) fitted with a mechanical vapour compressor. The unit has been designed with two evaporation cells in order to minimize the power consumption.
